Wissant Beach, France

My panoramic painting of Wissant beach in the North of France is Oil on Canvas 36” x 12” and is Framed in a Black floater frame. (Overall dimensions 38” x 14”).The vast open beaches in France with huge tide shift were my daily solace to exercise and mediate. I’d run these beaches bare foot for 7-20 miles each morning and be the only person there. I experienced so many different changes in light and weather and often when the sun would light up portions of the vast sand planes I’d take photos knowing I was capturing the clear open and powerful experiences that I’d eventually translate into paint. I wanted to express the textures so I experimented with molding paste building up the beaches, ocean and clouds with my fingers to feel out the shapes.
